Terms

Last updated 1 November 2026.

Sample text for the theme’s demo. This page is written for Corvel, an invented studio, and is not legal advice. Replace it with the text for your own studio, and have that reviewed by someone qualified for your country before you publish.

These terms are in two parts. The first covers your use of this website. The second sets out the general terms on which Corvel B.V., Touwslagerskade 22, 3016 AT Rotterdam, the Netherlands (Chamber of Commerce 00000000), “Corvel” or “we”, takes on projects. A signed proposal can add to them or depart from them; where it does, the proposal wins.

Part 1: this website

1. Using the site

You may read, share and link to the pages on this site. The case studies, images, texts and designs shown here belong to Corvel or to our clients, who have allowed us to show them. You may not copy them for your own portfolio, reuse them commercially or present them as your own work.

2. What we say here

We take care that what we write is accurate, but the site is general information, not an offer. Prices and timings mentioned in the journal or on the services page are typical figures; a project is priced in its own proposal. Figures in case studies come from our clients and describe their situation at the time.

3. Links

Where we link to another site, such as a client’s, we are not responsible for its content or its privacy practices.

Part 2: working with us

4. Proposals and agreement

Every project starts with a written proposal that describes the scope, the phases, the fee for each phase and the planning. An agreement is made when you accept the proposal in writing. A proposal is valid for 30 days.

5. Fees and payment

We quote a fixed fee per phase, based on our day rate. We invoice 40% of a phase’s fee when it starts and the rest when it is delivered, unless the proposal says otherwise. Invoices are due within 30 days. Printing, fabrication, font licences, image rights and travel outside Rotterdam and Lisbon are quoted separately and invoiced at cost, or paid by you directly to the supplier.

6. Changes to the scope

If you want something that is not in the proposal, we tell you what it costs and how it affects the planning before we do it. Work is added to the scope only when you agree to that in writing; an email is enough.

7. Your part

A project goes well when the people who decide take part. You give us the information, access and feedback the planning needs, and you name one person who collects your organisation’s feedback and approves each phase. If feedback or approvals are late, the planning moves with them.

8. Rights to the work

When the final invoice for a phase is paid, the intellectual property rights in the work we delivered in that phase pass to you, with the working files. Rights in concepts we presented but you did not choose stay with us. Fonts, images and software from third parties are licensed under their own terms; we buy licences in your name where we can. We may show the finished work in our portfolio and in talks, unless we agree otherwise before the project starts.

9. Confidentiality

We keep confidential what you tell us about your organisation and the project, during the project and after it ends, unless it is already public or you allow us to share it.

10. Liability

We do our work with care, but we cannot guarantee a commercial result. Our total liability for a project is limited to the fees paid for it in the twelve months before the claim, except in the case of intent or gross negligence. We are not liable for indirect damage such as lost profit. Check final proofs and files before they go to production: once you approve them, we are no longer responsible for errors in them.

11. Ending a project

Either of us can end a project in writing if the other seriously fails to meet these terms and does not put it right within 14 days of being asked. You can also stop a project at the end of any phase. You pay for the phases delivered and the part of the current phase already done.

12. Law and disputes

These terms and every project agreement are governed by Dutch law. If we disagree, we first try to solve it together; if that fails, the competent court in Rotterdam decides.
